Olivia Walk for Wellness 2024

Olivia’s Walk for Wellness 2024

On Tuesday June 18 the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre launched Olivia’s Walk for Wellness 2024. As of this day registrations for fundraisers and walkers are open. This year’s slogan is: “Do it for fun. Do it for an icon. Do it for people with cancer.”

Olivia’s Walk for Wellness 2024 will be held on October 6, with the main event taking place in Melbourne’s Alexandra Gardens. Like all the years before the members of Team Grace Global Walkers will be walking in the city of Antwerp, Belgium, and also other cities around the world.

Launch event

On June 20 a launch event was held at the ONJ Centre in attendance of Dame Olivia’s niece and ONJ Centre Good Will Ambassador, Tottie Goldmsith. As can be seen in this video Tottie was dressed for the occasion and entirely in keeping with this years theme of Let’s Get Physical.

About the walk and its goals

In September or October of each year the ONJCWRC organizes a Wellness Walk to raise funds for the centre. The past years it has become a very popular cancer research fundraising event. The walk is held primarily in Melbourne, Australia. This is where the hospital and research centre are located. In response to Olivia’s international appeal, which still holds strong even after her passing, more walks are now being organised by enthusiast supporters all over the world. The past few years supporters have organised walks in European and North-American cities as well.

The ONJ Centre brings light, love and transformative care to cancer patients by providing free access to integrated, evidence based wellness therapies that treat the whole person – mind, body and spirit.

The centre works to help patients live better with cancer and defeat it through world class treatment, integrated research, leading clinical trials and tailored wellness programs.

You can take a virtual tour if you want to have a look inside this state of the art hospital.

Dame Olivia

As founding champion of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre Dame Olivia, who sadly passed away in 2022, has worked tirelessly in her efforts to support the centre any way she can. She brought her passion to incorporate wellness into the cancer care the hospital offers.

As a long time cancer thriver herself Dame Olivia attested that complementary therapies improved her wellbeing and maintained her positive spirit when she was on her own cancer journey. So it was only natural that wellness became the guiding principle behind the philosophy of the centre.

The wellness activities of the ONJ Centre rely on government and philanthropic support, as well as donations from the public.

Team Grace

Since the very first Olivia’s Walk for Wellness Team Grace has organised a walk in Antwerp, Belgium and later other cities all over the world as well.

If you would like to help keep Dame Oliva’s legacy alive please support or join our team by donating or fundraising.

In 2015 Olivia gave the team a personal shout out – a proud moment for all team members!

Her niece Tottie did something similar in 2022 when the walk was held just after Olivia’s passing:
